LOWER DIR: District councilor and local leader of Jamat-e-Islami Lower Dir Shad Nawaz Khan escaped assassination attempt here on Monday.
Police said Shad Nawaz was ambushed by two assassins in Ribaat area when he was on his way to local market from his house. He remained unhurt in the attack, however, two policemen and a passerby child were killed in the firing.
One attacker jumped into River Panjkora and the other was arrested after retaliatory fire, police said.
According to police search for the attacker who jumped in the river was underway.
