ISLAMABAD: Today is the last day for all political parties, who wish to participate in the upcoming general elections, to file details regarding their assets with the Election Commission of Pakistan.
According to Article 13 of Political Parties Act 2002, all parties are supposed to submit their asset details within 60 days before the ending of the financial year. According to which all the details of financial position including sources of income and funds are also to be provided till 29 th August.
According to a handout by the Election Commission, political parties should provide the ECP with details regarding their sources of funds, assets and information pertaining to the financial position of the party by August 29.
Those political parties that refrain from submitting the relevant details will not be allotted election symbols.
