SC rejects appeals against military courts' death sentences

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan upheld the death sentences issued by military courts by rejecting appeals against the decisions, on Monday. 

According to details, seventeen appeals against death sentences handed by military courts had been filed with the Supreme Court of Pakistan.  The Supreme Court had reserved its judgment regarding the case on June 20. A five-member larger bench presided over by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, had heard the appeals. 

Military courts had handed death sentences to suspects for their alleged involvement in incidents of terrorism such as the Army Public School massacre in Peshawar, Parade Lane terrorist attack and the Bannu jail attack, as well as other incidents of terrorism.
