KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader and member National Assembly Asif Hasnain has been taken into custody by Rangers, sources said Thursday.
According to the sources, Asif Hasnain was detained from Karachi Airport. MQM MNA was leaving for Islamabad when he was taken into custody by Rangers.
He has been shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation.
Sources said the paramilitary Asif had visited the paramilitary officials when he was summoned two days back for interrogation after press conference of Dr Farooq Sattar.
Meanwhile, according to reports MQM MPA Shiraz Waheed has also been arrested in Karachi on Thursday.
He was arrested from Landhi area on charges of distributing controversial CDs in the area.
Police have confirmed that an FIR under the Anti-Terrorism Act has been registered against the MQM’s Sindh Assembly member.
