MQM has no option but to disassociate itself from Altaf: Khursheed
ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in the National Assembly (NA), Syed Khursheed Shah has stated that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) had no other option other than distancing itself from the party chief Altaf Hussain.
Speaking to media here Wednesday, Khursheed Shah stated that MQM leadership present in London would attempt to maintain its grip over the affairs of the party, adding that whoever backed the MQM chief was against the state of Pakistan.
He went on to say some people sitting with Altaf are part of Indian lobby.
On the other hand, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and Opposition leader in the Senate Aitzaz Ahsan had a different view regarding the situation. He stated that distancing MQM leader from the party would not be possible anytime soon.
He said experiences of minus-one formulas in politics could not succeed completely. (NNI/Geo Urdu)
