KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Ismail on Wednesday stopped and pushed away by PML-N workers as he began to address media at KMC building in Karachi.
Happening in front of the KMC building during the local bodies election, Imran Ismail had just taken the dais to give his speech when he was shoved aside by a PML-N worker who took the microphones and started chanting slogans of “traitor...traitor”.
Reports said the man was PML-N nominee for Deputy Mayor in District East Amanullah Afridi who created ruckus claiming that PTI cheated his party to pave way for MQM nominee’s victory.
He went on blaming the party for Pakistan’s conditions.
Sources said the incident took place after Ismail said his party would support the elected mayor for the betterment of Karachi.
According to reports a huge crowd of PML-N workers broke through security barricades and shoved their way inside the building.
Whereas, in order to protect themselves from possible assault, PTI workers rushed into the City Council to seek temporary refuge.
