My conflict was with MQM, not Zardari: Zulfiqar Mirza

BADIN: Former Home Minster of Sindh and ex-Pakistan Peoples Party leader, Dr Zulfiqar Mirza said on Sunday that his conflict was with MQM and not PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari. 

Speaking to media personnel in Badin, Dr Mirza said that friends had stabbed him in the back and caused him to fight with Asif Ali Zardari. Mirza said one never said no when it came to politics. He alleged that horse trading was taking place in the local elections. 

Zulfiqar Mirza was one of Pakistan Peoples Party's most important leaders from Sindh and also a close confidant and longtime friend of Asif Ali Zardari. However, he had a fallout with the PPP co-chairman when he made incendiary remarks and openly criticized Asif Zardari and a couple of Pakistan Peoples Party leaders last year. 

Mirza was the former Home Minister of Sindh, who frequently subjected MQM and its chief Altaf Hussian to severe criticism over the years. Zulfiqar Mirza has leveled serious allegations on MQM and its chief Altaf Hussain of murdering and extorting traders for money. 

Zulfiqar Mirza had announced his intention to form a new party, last year in October and had stated that the party would forward the mission of former prime ministers Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.
