Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra leaks reveal Samsung's biggest upgrades

You won't find many secrets left in the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. As leaks have now hinted at an October 7 release date, leaker extraordinaire Evan Blass has provided the most detailed renders yet, offering images of the device from all angles, including front, back, sides, and even the S Pen stylus. Any fan of a radical design should revise their thinking now.

Slim bezels, a small waterdrop notch along one edge, and two individual rear cameras rather than a unified camera island, the Tab S12 Ultra looks like a direct continuation of its predecessor.

An earlier leaked image already hinted at this, and the new renders confirm Samsung isn't chasing a visual overhaul this cycle.

Where Samsung is investing is internal. Earlier benchmark leaks pointed to a significant performance jump, and more recent spec leaks have filled in the picture: a 14.6-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, an 11,600mAh battery, up to 16GB of RAM, and storage options reaching 1TB.

Roland Quandt, who is known for leaking many details before, has posted what he calls EU Energy Labels for Wi-Fi and 5G variants of Tab S12 Plus and Ultra from Samsung.

According to the labels, the SM-X840 and SM-X846B models belong to Plus, and the SM-X940 and SM-X946B belong to Ultra.

The Ultra is said to have 88 hours and 54 minutes' worth of battery life according to EU testing and 80 hours and 34 minutes for the Plus.

All four variants carry a G energy-efficiency grade, a C repairability rating, and an E drop-resistance rating, alongside IP68 water and dust resistance and batteries rated for 1,200 charge cycles. The consistency across Wi-Fi and 5G models suggests Samsung isn't differentiating hardware quality by connectivity option this time.
