Jamie Lee Curtis pays emotional tribute to late pal Rob Reiner at 2026 Emmys

Jamie Lee Curtis couldn't control her emotions while paying tribute to the late Rob Reiner at the 78th Emmy Awards ceremony.

The 67-year-old actress paid homage to her late New Girl co-star during the In Memoriam segment of the show on Monday, September 14.

Jamie broke down in tears as she spoke of Rob during the segment. She described the actor as “a cherished legend."

The actress appeared alongside Rob in New Girl from 2012 to 2018.  The pair later shared the screen in The Bear.

“Last week, Robby won an Emmy for Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his beautiful work on The Bear,” the actress explained. “And he now holds the record, of 48 years, for the longest gap between acting Emmys — which was previously held by his father, Carl Reiner, at 37 years”

“He was generous and kind, and funny as hell,” Jamie added. “And a friend to all. And we all miss Rob and Michele and all those we lost this year.”

For those unaware, Rob and his wife Michele Singer Reiner were found unconcious in their Brentwood home in December 2025.

Later, the couple's son, Nick Rayner, was taken into custody on suspicion of murdering his parents.

However, he has denied the charge.
