Shania Twain hints at Harry Styles collaboration ‘in the future’
Shania Twain has talked about collaborating with Harry Styles
Shania Twain believes that she'll record a duet with Harry Styles "in the future."
The You're Still the One singer supported the former One Direction star when he took his Together, Together tour to the UK in the summer, and said she would "love to" follow up that time they had together by reuniting in the recording studio, though she knows it is going to be difficult to find a gap in both their schedules.
She told Us Weekly magazine, “That would definitely be a dream for me to get in the studio with him and just pump out some ideas … whatever would come of it. … But he’s a very busy person right now.”
Shania continued, “It’ll take a while to probably nail him down with his schedule. Those times when you’re full-time touring, in a full-time touring mode, it’s very difficult to fit in recording time, but yeah, I think that’s in the future for us.”
She was then asked what a potential collaboration might sound like, to which she answered, “We haven’t actually talked about it because … we’ve just been on different paths. Coming together for the Wembley shows was very, very [rare]. We were very lucky that that worked.”
“I don’t know what that would look like. I think it would be very casual and fun. There’d be a lot of laughs. He’s got a great personality. He’s easygoing, and we’re both very creative. So, I think it would be just two creative people getting together who have a mutual respect,” the Canadian icon added.
Shania has also admitted that she is very inspired by the new generation of artists, including the likes of Harry and Sabrina Carpenter.
She said, "Well, there’s always so much room for inspiration, and being around younger artists and meeting them and performing with them gives me a lot of hope about where we’re going with music and creativity.”
"They’re just so full of new ideas, and that’s where inspiration comes from. Being around people that, you know, are doing things you may never have thought of [or] doing things in a different way you may never have,” the Any Man of Mine artist gushed.
Additionally, the songstress also mentioned that supporting Harry on tour meant Shania missed Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding, which took place on July 4 at New York's Madison Square Garden, and while she was "sad" not to be at the celebration, she has no regrets.
“I really was sad that I couldn’t make that. I already committed to Harry, and, of course, I would never go back on a commitment,” she told the outlet.
“That was just very strange timing. I wouldn’t say it’s unfortunate because I really enjoyed my shows at Wembley. Of course, I loved it … Our stars will have to align another time,” Shania Twain said of supporting Harry Styles during his tour and missing Taylor Swift’s wedding.
