16 dead, 28 injured after South Sinai bus crash reported along Red Sea Coast, Egypt

In a latest update, a tragic accident occurred on the coastal highway connecting the popular tourist destinations of Dahab and Nuweiba, specifically near the Al-Saada area in Egypt's South Sinai province.

At least 16 people were pronounced dead at the scene, while 28 others sustained varying injuries.

The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population immediately dispatched 20 ambulances to the site. The injured passengers were rushed to nearby regional hospitals for urgent medical care.

Preliminary reports from local authorities indicate that the driver was traveling at excessive speeds and lost control of the vehicle, causing the passenger bus to violently overturn.

Health Minister Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar raised local medical facilities to a state of heightened emergency to ensure all victims receive critical supplies and specialized treatment.
