Olivia Rodrigo fans finally get what they wanted but they will have to move fast

When You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love — Olivia Rodrigo's third studio album — was released, Serena Joy was supposed to be in there.

Why?

Because in Jim-E Stack, the album's co-producer, himself previously advertently or inadvertently teased as the 12th song in the draft tracklist.

But in the final cut, Serena Joy did not make it.

This sparked a frenzy of speculation among Rodrigo's fanbase.

Some believed the song title, Serena Joy, is a nod to Serena Joy Waterford, the controversial character from the Hulu series The Handmaid’s Tale.

After seeing the response, Rodrigo confirmed in a previous interview that the song is real and that she may release it later.

“I actually really love [“Serena Joy”]. It didn’t fit on the album," she told ETalk.

"The record was very much a chronicle of a relationship — beginning, middle and end. But I hope that it’ll be a part of something else down the line," the singer said.

Now, the musician has finally released Serena Joy.

But fans have to move fast because it is getting a limited physical release and only 500 CD copies will be available at Analog Record Shop in Orange County on Aug 21.

The song will be available on streaming platforms from Aug 24.

Sales from the hotly anticipated song will go to Rodrigo's forthcoming Daisy Chain Fields charity festival.
