Prince William, Kate Middleton 'future of monarchy' as Meghan, Harry moving back to Britain

A royal expert has claimed that Prince William, Kate Middleton and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are the future of the monarchy as Meghan and Harry have announced returning to Britain after six years.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has said: “The Waleses are the future of the monarchy - both of them and their children - and that is also how the public see it.”

The royal expert’s remarks came after Harry and his wife Meghan’s plans to move back to Britain this month, six years after they quit royal duties and relocated to the US, were revealed.

A person close to the couple said they would move from California to somewhere outside London for an extended period with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, who will go to school in Britain.

King Charles, who media reports said welcomed having his youngest son and his family closer, only found out about the move on Sunday.

Harry and Meghan will not live in a royal residence and will remain non-working royals, as agreed with the late Queen Elizabeth.

However, there are claims Prince William will be "furious" over the return of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to the UK.

Former royal butler Grant Harrold, who worked closely with both brothers until 2011, said Harry will have to work hard to regain Prince William's trust and may never do so.
