Perez Hilton’s livestream video on Tuesday sparked an emergency response as the celebrity blogger was seen to be involved in alleged self-harm activity online.

As the unsettling video drew attention of the users, the police promptly responded to the Miami-area home of Hilton. According to a spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, “deputies responded to reports of someone who was livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media.”

However, the statement issued by the Sheriff's Office did not actually mention Hilton. The follow-up statement further explained that the person in question was “safely recovered” and he was shifted to a local hospital where he was receiving medical care.

What really happened to Perez Hilton?

A video streamed on TikTok, subsequently removed, appeared to show Perez Hilton covered in blood with cuts on his arms and torso, appearing to slide a knife on himself while viewers pleaded for his phone number to call authorities.

As per details, he was completely alone inside the residence. His children and family were not present. The sheriff’s office responded to his neighbourhood with multiple patrol vehicles and yellow tape, and deputies confirmed with family members that Hilton was alone inside his residence.

“In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritize de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication,” the Sheriff Office’s statement continued.

The co-CEOs of the talent management firm that represents Hilton, Golden Artists Entertainment, explained that they were aware of online content circulating on social media platforms but their primary concern was Hilton and his family well-being.

“At this time, we have not been able to make direct contact with him, despite our ongoing efforts to reach him,” they said.

Hilton, 48, rose to fame in the early 2000s as a celebrity gossip blogger. He has three children born through surrogacy and recently announced a move back to Miami from Las Vegas following a recent hospital stay.
