X Down: Millions of users report widespread outages across platform
Elon Musk's social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), suffered a brief but widespread global outage on Monday morning, June 22, 2026
'X' was largely back up after thousands of users reported issues with the social media platform globally on Monday, according to Downdetector.com.
The outage began around 9:00 a.m. ET, peaking at over 25,000 issues being reported in the U.S. before cooling to about 620 reports, according to Downdetector, which tracks outages by collating status reports from a number of sources.
In Canada, reports fell to roughly 30 from a high of more than 3,400, while the UK saw issues decline after topping 9,000 earlier in the day, according to the website.
Peak Disruption occured after service reports began skyrocketing shortly after 9:30 a.m. ET.
WHile complaints on Downdetector peaked at over 25,000 to 27,000 reports within the United States by 10:00 a.m
The issue extended globally with peaking complaints exceeding 9,000 in the UK and 3,400 in Canada
Roughly 45% of all complaints stemmed from malfunctions within X's mobile application.
About 30% of users reported about broken timelines as their feeds and timelines failed to update or load posts.
Simultaneounsly,web infrastructure issue involving Cloudflare ,Reddit, Fortnite ,Zoom and AWS were reportely down on the same morning, noting latencies and timeouts across North America and Europe due to a "fiber cut".
The actual number of affected users may differ from what is shown, as the reports are submitted by users.
The Musk owned platform X, did not immediately responded on what caused the outage.
