Jaafar Jackson on keeping Michael Jackson’s style alive at Met Gala
Jaafar Jackson pays subtle tribute to late uncle Michael Jackson on Met Gala red carpet
Jaafar Jackson got candid on keeping his late uncle Michael Jackson’s style alive as he stepped onto the red carpet of this year’s Met Gala.
The Michael star recreated the King of Pop’s look subtly paying tribute to him at one of the fashion’s most exclusive nights.
Speaking about starring in Michael’s biopic, Jaafar described the experience as life-changing and deeply personal.
He said it allowed him to understand his uncle’s world in a new way. “It was the most incredible, life-changing experience I could ask for, to go through it all from day one,” he said.
“And now to be here at the Met, it’s quite trippy,” the actor-singer added.
For his Met Gala debut, he chose a classic, timeless outfit from Ralph Lauren, explaining that he wanted something that still reflected Michael’s style influence.
“This is Polo Ralph Lauren,” he said. “I wanted to go with something that’s still in the world of Michael, since the film is out.”
“It has a timeless feel, and it just felt right when I had it on,” Jaafar added while speaking with Vogue.
