SEHWAN SHARIF: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah vowed to take stern action against corruption in the province and praised efforts of Rangers in maintaining law and order in Karachi.
According to details, Murad Ali Shah spoke to media personnel after he had visited the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan Sharif. Promising strict action against those who indulged in corruption, Murad also praised the efforts of Rangers in Karachi for restoring law and order to Karachi.
"Rangers are doing good work in Karachi," he said. "We are also working with them to ensure peace in the city," he added.
Murad Ali Shah said that Sindh government had not sent a summary to the Interior Ministry but had sent a letter for extending Rangers' stay in Sindh with policing powers.
"I am the Chief Minister of Sindh and I know that there is no such thing as a summary that the Chief Minister has to send," he said. "We have not received a written or verbal reply regarding our letter," he added.
Murad Ali Shah said that he had not spoken to Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan but will give him a reply when he does. The Sindh Chief Minister also said that he would not let the issue of Rangers' stay in Sindh with special powers, become political.
He said that due to efforts by Rangers and police, there was peace in the rural areas of Sindh as well. However, the Chief Minister admitted that there was still room for more improvement with regard to the law and order situation in Pakistan.
On Monday, Murad Ali Shah had sent a letter to the Interior Ministry, accepting the stay of Rangers in Sindh with special powers.
