KARACHI: Nine ministers, four advisors, and four special assistants of the Sindh cabinet took oath for their office at the Governor House here Saturday. Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan administered the oath.
The ministers included Dr Sikandar Mandhro, Makhdoom Jamiluz Zaman, Nisar Khuhro, Mahtab Hussain Dahar, Jam Khan Shoro, Suhail Anwar Siyal, Sardar Ali Shah, Shamim Mumtaz and Mukesh Kumar Chawla.
The advisors and special assistants included Saeed Ghani, Murtaza Wahab, Maula Bux Chandio, Asghar Junejo, Khato Mal, Erum Khalid, Dr Sikandar Shoro and Syed Ghulam Shah.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also announced the portfolios assigned to different members of the Sindh cabinet.
The home ministry portfolio has been taken away from Sohail Anwar Siyal, assigning him the portfolio now of the agriculture ministry.
The education ministry was taken from senior PPP leader Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, who has now been assigned the portfolio of food and parliamentary affairs.
The education ministry has been assigned to Jam Mehtab Dahar while Jam Khan Shoro will continue as the municipalities' minister.
Makhdoom Jamiluz Zaman has been assigned the portfolio of revenue and relief while Mukesh Chawla has been made the provincial excise and taxation minister.
Shamim Mumtaz has been assigned the portfolio of social welfare and Murtaza Wahab has been given the law and anti-corruption portfolio.
Senior PPP leader Maula Baksh Chandio has been given charge of the Sindh information department, while Saeed Ghani will take charge of the provincial labour department.
