KARACHI: Rangers arrested five suspects during search operations in different areas of the city on Thursday.
According to details, rangers have detained at least five suspects in a search operation carried out in Malir, Azizabad and Orangi.
On Thursday Rangers raided a political party’s office near RCD ground, Malir and arrested two party personnel, sources revealed.
A house-to-house search operation was also carried out in Azizabad block 8 from where two suspects were arrested. The arrested people were shifted to unknown place for interrogation.
Rangers also placed under arrest a target killer from Orangi Town, Pakistan Bazar. The suspect was identified as Nadeem.
Nadeem was a former unit in-charge of a political party and was involved in various crimes including extortion, killing of eight people according to SSP investigation, Akhtar Farooq.
Recently, a resolution was given in Sindh Assembly for the extension of Rangers' powers in Sindh. In the resolution, it was also suggested to extend the scope of Rangers' powers to the whole of Sindh.
