'Stranger Things' star Jamie Campbell Bower reflects on intense work schedule
'Stranger Things' star Jamie Campbell Bower has shared exhuasting work demands while filming season 4
Jamie Campbell Bower reportedly went to extreme lengths while bringing Vecna to life on Stranger Things season 4.
In a recent conversation with PEOPLE Magazine, the actor reflected on the demanding schedule that came with playing the show's terrifying villain and revealed just how physically draining the process was.
Bower explained that his days often began in the early hours of the morning to prepare for filming.
"We could be starting at 1 a.m., 2 a.m. to get him ready for 8 a.m. or 9 a.m.," he shared, noting that this would be followed by "a whole shooting day of maybe 10 to 12 hours."
He even addressed that the work did not stop once filming wrapped as Bower added, "Then we would be de-rigging him two hours in the evening."
Despite the exhaustion, he praised the production team for being mindful of his limits.
By season 4, the crew had become highly experienced, and scheduling was handled with care.
Bower credited Tudor Jones, now a producer on season 5 and formerly the first assistant director, for ensuring he was never filmed on consecutive days.
“He scheduled the shoots so cleverly and considerably that we would never shoot Jamie two days in a row,” Bower said.
While the days were still long and tiring, the built-in recovery time made a difference.
"We’d have a super long day. We'd be exhausted… but then we might not film again until Wednesday or Thursday," he explained.
“So there would be a full path of recovery,” he concluded.
