The Oklahoma City Thunder have equaled the best 25-game start to a season in NBA history by achieving a significant record of 24 wins out of their first 25 games.
This historic start matches the record set by the 2015-2016 Golden State Warriors, a team that achieved the unprecedented 24 wins and 1 loss (24-1).
As reported by the BBC, defending champions the Thunder have won 24 of their first 25 games, equaling the Golden State Warriors’ record from 2015-16.
Shai Gilgeus Alexander was one of the prominent players from last season and became the second Canadian to be named NBA MVP.
In addition, he scored 28 points at Paycom Center, hitting the 20-point mark for a 96th straight game.
“Winning is never boring.” said Thunder forward Jalen Williams.
The Thunder have won 92 of their 107 regular-season games since the start of 2024-25, following their incredible successful campaign last season, when they topped the Western Conference with a 68-14 record.
The NBA Cup is the competition’s annual-in-season tournament. All matches count toward the regular-season standings except for the final game.
The Thunder’s initial start is not just impressive, it is the cream of the crop, signaling an unprecedented season.
