Ron Weasley is one of the iconic characters in Harry Potter, and Rupert Grint, who played him, says he will never “step out” of its shadow.
In an interview with the BBC, he was asked whether he was fed up with the role he portrayed in the fantasy franchise.
“No, absolutely not. I love it," he says of the character he first played when he was 12 years old.
“It changed my whole life quite quickly,” he continues. “I was a huge fan of the books, so for me it was like stepping into the books, and that was very special.”
Moreover, as the reboot is in production, the actor Alastair Stout plays Alastair Stout. Ron reveals he wrote a letter to him.
“It’s quite strange to have the cycle happening again,” the actor adds. “I’m really intrigued what it’s going to be like.”
Similarly, his co-star Daniel Radcliffe had earlier shared that he had written a letter to the young star Dominic McLaughlin while he was portraying Harry Potter.
"I wrote to Dominic. I sent him a letter, and he sent me a very sweet note back," he told ABC’s Good Morning America.
"I just wanted to write to him to say, 'I hope you have the best time, and an even better time than I did. I had a great time, but I hope you have an even better time," the actor added.
