KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has taken notice of the killing of a Hindu boy Satish Kumar at the hands of armed terrorists in district Ghotki and asked Sindh government to take immediate action against the culprits and those instigating violence in the district.
PPP Chairman has also instructed Party MNA Ramesh Lal to visit the victim’s family and offer condolence on his behalf and for solidarity.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari asked Sindh government to maintain peace and harmony in Ghotki and elsewhere adding that anti-social elements fanning hatred and violence should be reined in and punished. He stressed that nobody should be allowed to take law into his own hands.
Communal tensions ran high in Ghotki district on Wednesday, after a Hindu man was arrested for allegedly desecrating the Holy Quran a day earlier.
Two Hindu men were shot having tea at a stall in Ghotki's town of Mirpur Mathelo during an attack by a mob Wednesday.
One of the victims, 17-year-old Dewan Sateesh Kumar, succumbed to his injuries while his friend Avinash is in a critical condition.
All big and small towns of Ghotki district including Daharki, Mirpur Mathelo, Ubauro and Khan Pur Mehar remained closed on Wednesday due to communal tensions, with cities deserted for the second consecutive day.
