TEHRAN: Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security, Lt. Gen. (r) Nasser Khan Janjua was assured Iran's full cooperation with regard to alleged Indian spy Kalbhushan Yadav, during his visit to Iran on Wednesday.

According to sources, Janjua met Supreme National Security Council of Iran's secretary Ali Shamkhani and held two rounds of discussions with him, both of which were successful. Sources revealed that the Irani representative promised Janjua full cooperation with regard to the matter of Kalbhushan Yadav.

Both Janjua and Shamkhani agreed to facilitate timely intelligence sharing between both countries and meetings between the military leadership of both countries. Iran clarified that no third country's interference would be tolerated or affect the bilateral ties of both nations. Both persons also agreed to remove all deadlocks in the way of economic cooperation and ties between Iran and Pakistan.

Janjua and Shamkhani also discussed establishing more gates, crossing points and check-posts at the border for added security. Both men also agreed to make the boundary working group more stable and enhance the border system of both countries further.

During the meeting, it was also decided that Pakistan and Iran would combat terrorist threats including the Islamic State with cooperation and concerted efforts. Both discussed restoring peace in Afghanistan and also the prospect of restoration of the tripartite forum involving Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran.

Kalbhushan Yadav is allegedly an Indian RAW agent who was captured by Pakistan's security forces from Balochistan. In a video clip, the suspect had confessed to being an Indian spy who claimed that he was involved in subversive activities in Balochistan.
