PESHAWAR: Police on Tuesday morning conducted a search operation in Sarband and Pashtkhara sites in Peshawar.
According to details, police have detained at least 16 including 5 Afghan nationals from the search operation.
A police spokesperson briefed media personnel after the operation that weapons, ammunition and drugs were recovered from the suspects.
Twenty-eight more suspects were arrested in a search operation in Bahanmari area which included three Afghan nationals and 17 suspects.
The government had urged the Afghan government to take back its illegal immigrants who have been living in Pakistan. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said on Monday that Afghan officials were involved in terrorist activities in Charsadda and Peshawar.
