D.G. KHAN: Another suspect in the Qandeel Baloch murder case, who denied involvement in killing the murdered Pakistani model and social media sensation, handed himself over to the police on Monday.
While talking to Geo news, Haq Nawaz, who had been named by central suspect Muhammad Waseem as one of the accomplices in Baloch's murder, claimed that Waseem had issued false allegations against him; he had no relations with Qandeel neither was he aware as to how or when she was murdered.
It is pertinent to mention here that Waseem had named Haq Nawaz as being an accomplice in Qandeel Baloch's murder and had stated that Nawaz was in the house with him at the time he killed Baloch.
Suspect Nawaz said, ’I have turned myself in to the police to show that I have nothing to hide."
Qandeel Baloch was murdered allegedly by her brother Waseem on July 16 in her house at Multan. The supermodel was strangled to death during her sleep after being sedated, according to her brother Waseem. Waseem confessed to killing her sister for 'honour' and had stated that he had no regrets over the incident.
Waseem had also named another suspect named Basit who was waiting allegedly waiting for him and Haq Nawaz at some distance from the house. Waseem had claimed that after murdering Qandeel Baloch, he had fled from the house with Haq Nawaz in Basit's car.
Police have taken Haq Nawaz into custody.
