KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will preside over an important party meeting on Tuesday to announce major changes in the Sindh cabinet.
According to details, the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party will accept Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah's resignation on Tuesday during the meeting. The names of the new Sindh Chief Minister and his Sindh cabinet will also be announced during the meeting of the party leadership.
Sources disclosed that it has been decided to reshuffle or change more than half of the current ministers in the Sindh cabinet. The decision was taken on Sunday when a meeting was conducted in Dubai in which Bilawal Bhutto, Faryal Talpur and Asif Ali Zardari as well as other senior members of PPP participated.
The sources further disclosed that Asif Ali Zardari had approved extension in Rangers special powers in Sindh during the meeting that took place in Sindh. The name of Murad Ali Shah was also finalized as CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah's successor. Murad Ali Shah is the son of late Abdull Shah who served as chief minister of Sindh during PPP’s second stint.
A statement issued by Senator Farhatullah Babar of the PPP on Sunday after the meeting read: "Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is scheduled to return to Karachi early in the week starting Monday to meet the provincial party leaders and party MPAs before finalizing changes in the Sindh cabinet."
