BA approves safe and environmentally sound recycling of ships bill
QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly has approved the Balochistan Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships Bill. Meanwhile, the amended bill for the Balochistan Judicial Academy and the draft of the Balochistan Anti-Beggary Bill were referred to the relevant standing committees.
The House also approved the recommendations of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) regarding the audit report of the Balochistan Textbook Board. The question hour was postponed due to the absence of the concerned provincial ministers.
The Assembly session began with a delay of 50 minutes under the chairmanship of Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai. During the session, Chairman of the PAC Asghar Tareen presented the committee s report on the audit of the Balochistan Textbook Board, which was subsequently approved by the House.
The Assembly then passed the Balochistan Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships Bill, while the Balochistan Judicial Academy (Amendment) Bill and the Balochistan Anti-Beggary Bill were handed over to the relevant standing committees for further review.
Questions related to the QDA (Quetta Development Authority) and the Department of Labour & Manpower were deferred because the concerned provincial ministers were not present.
The session was adjourned until Thursday, when provincial lawmakers will be given an in-camera briefing on the law and order situation.
