ISLAMABAD: Prof Ms Taqdees Gilani, Member of the Legislative Assembly of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Minister for Small Industries and the Trade & Travel Authority, formally joined the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) during a meeting with the party’s Women’s Wing President and political in-charge for AJK Faryal Talpur, at Zardari House on Sunday.
Taqdees Gilani announced her decision to join the PPP and expressed full confidence in the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.
Faryal Talpur welcomed her into the party, saying the PPP has always been at the forefront of safeguarding women’s rights and promoting their economic empowerment.
She said the inclusion of capable women political leaders would further strengthen the party’s struggle for equality and representation. “The courage, hard work, and resilience of Kashmiri women are unparalleled,” Faryal Talpur remarked, paying tribute to the women of Azad Kashmir.
