LAHORE: The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has requested the provincial Home Department to provide an armoured, bullet- and bomb-proof passenger coaster to ensure secure mobility for foreign dignitaries attending the upcoming ASEAN Conference in Lahore.
In an official communication addressed to the Home Secretary, the PSCA stated that it is hosting the high-profile regional conference from 14 to 22 November 2025, an event expected to draw senior delegates and dignitaries from multiple ASEAN member states. Given the sensitive and international nature of the gathering, the authority underscored the need for “foolproof security and transportation arrangements” aligned with global safety standards and diplomatic protocols.
The authority has specifically sought one armoured coaster with a capacity of 25 passengers, along with a dedicated driver, to facilitate the movement of foreign guests throughout the duration of the summit.
The letter identifies Shafique Ahmad Chaudhary, SP Operations, PSCA, as the focal person for coordination. The PSCA expressed confidence that timely support from the Home Department would enable seamless security operations across the nine-day event.
Copies of the request have been forwarded to the Inspector General of Police Punjab, the Capital City Police Officer Lahore and senior administrative officials of the PSCA for necessary action.
The ASEAN Conference is expected to bring substantial diplomatic activity to the provincial capital, with security agencies already gearing up to manage the extensive arrangements required for the international delegation.
