Sindh police chief Ghulam Nabi Memon on Wednesday attended the passing out ceremony of the Elite Course participants at the Specialized Commando Training Center.
At least 521 recruits completed their three-month specialized commando training at the centre.
Officials said the ceremony was attended by the DIG Training, Shaheed Benazirabad, Hyderabad, SSP Matiari, Shaheed Benazirabad, commandants of Training Centers and other police officers. On arrival, the IGP was presented with a general salute.
IGP Memon visited various departments of the training centre, including a dispensary, and inaugurated the recently constructed road network and international obstacles. The event demonstrated counter-terrorism, rope climbing from one building to another, excellent security for VVIPs, destroying terrorist hideouts, and taking timely action on a tall building through a tower.
After Karachi, a tower has recently been built at the Skrand Training Centre, on which a practical demonstration was also presented. The DIG Training said the training standards of the police are being brought into line with international standards and modern times. The number of recruitments in the police is increasing day by day. The recruitment of youth has strengthened all sectors.
IGP Memon in his speech congratulated all the recruits who passed out on successfully completing their training and becoming part of the Sindh police. “It is a source of joy for me to be invited and participate in today’s pass-out ceremony. I congratulate all the trainers for the best and quality training.”
He said we will increase the quality, capacity and resources of training. Before this, it is necessary to improve the training of instructors. If the instructors are good, it will have an impact on the police, he said, adding that it will be directly visible on the training. “I ask the trainers here to participate fully in the upcoming Training of Trainers programme. You will have to work diligently and diligently in the field on the model of this training centre.”
The IGP thanked the chief minister and the home minister for approving every request he made regarding police training. He said whenever he presented a project before them, they provided funds.
He remarked that this initiative has improved the efficiency and quality of training. We are associated with a profession that is watched very carefully not only by the people but also by the media. The wrongdoing of a police officer is highlighted and affects the entire department. He said the police can do great and good things under these responsibilities, and the entire department is proud of the good work done by the police. In this digital era, he said, the police have to improve technical-based policing and its use. He added that only those who are computerized and have access to the use of technology prove to be successful police officers. Such officers succeed in achieving their goals and objectives with less effort. “You have to fight criminals and terrorists in the field. Your primary responsibility is to protect the people and this is what your state also wants from you.”
On this occasion, a prize of Rs1 lakh each was announced for the best five shooters and teachers, while a prize of Rs1 lakh was also announced for the band squad and certificates of appreciation.
