Jennifer Aniston’s boyfriend Jim Curtis opened up about how to build a real connection in relationships.
The 50-year-old hypnotherapist and life coach shared a new video on Instagram where he explained why many people fall for an illusion instead of reality.
In the clip, the Friends star could be heard asking him, “Hey, Jim. How do I stop falling in love with the idea of someone?”
Jim smiled and replied that people often imagine a future that doesn’t exist. “The subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between reality and fantasy,” he said.
“If you keep imagining a future that hasn’t happened yet, you’re falling in love with something that doesn’t exist.”
He added that the key is to focus on what’s happening right now and not rush too far ahead.
The couple, however, confirmed their romance earlier this month when Jennifer shared a black-and-white photo with Jim on his birthday, writing, “Happy birthday, my love. Cherished.”
Their relationship first caught attention during a vacation in Mallorca, Spain where Jennifer introduced Jim to her close friends Jason Bateman and Amanda Anka.
After the trip, Jim shared in his newsletter that he was grateful for the “joy and love” he now felt in his life.
The loverbirds have been seen together several times since, including a stay at a luxury resort in Northern California.
Moreover, fans have been thrilled to see Jennifer happy again years after her marriages to Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux ended.
