BATKHELA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader, former federal minister and ex-senator Lal Muhammad Khan passed away after protracted illness.
His funeral prayers were offered in his native village Thana in Malakand and later laid to rest amidst thousands of mourners.
PPP provincial president Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial president Junaid Akbar Khan, former minister Shakil Ahmad, PPP Malakand division president and former Minister Malik Azmat Khan, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl leader Maulana Salman Taseer, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Sajjad Ahmad Khan, Najmuddin, Khwaja Muhammad Khan Hoti, as well as leaders and representatives from various political parties and local elders attended the funeral prayers.
Late Lal Muhammad Khan was born in 1934 in Thana in Malakand. He had been associated with politics since his student days and was a close companion of late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and late Benazir Bhutto.
The deceased was the brother of Shahbaz Muhammad Khan, Brig Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Dost Muhammad Khan, Maqbool Khan and Aziz Ahmad Khan, father of Waqar Lal Khan, Asad Lal Khan and Naeem Lal Khan, and father-in-law of Muhammad Qayyum Khan, Kaleem Khan and Owais Khan.
