LONDON: The Pakistani government authorities deported a former FBI informant, Kamran Faridi, on the “national security grounds”, reliable sources said.
Faridi, a Karachi-born former student activist who went on to work for the FBI on several spying missions, including inside Pakistan was refused entry into Pakistan after he reached Karachi with his American wife Kelly Faridi.
Kamran Faridi is currently based in a Middle Eastern country after his deportation from Pakistan. Faridi’s profile and his role in the arrest of a Pakistani businessman in London on August 16, 2018, was highlighted by this reporter for the first time to shed extensive light on how a Karachi street boy ended up becoming a valued FBI agent, who was tasked to carry out counter-terrorism operations in several Muslim countries, including Pakistan.
