Bilawal to inaugurate new Trauma Centre in Quetta on 15th
QUETTA: The newly constructed Trauma Centre on Spini Road, Quetta, is nearing completion and is expected to be inaugurated by Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on November 15.
According to Dr Arbab Kamran, Managing Director of the Trauma Centre at Civil Hospital Quetta, the facility will initially have the capacity to accommodate 120 patients, which will later be expanded to 200. The centre is being equipped with a modern laboratory, CT scan facilities, and state-of-the-art medical machinery, while staff recruitment is also in progress.
Meanwhile, Balochistan’s Minister for Health, Bakht Muhammad Kakar, paid a detailed visit to the under-construction Trauma Centre to review the pace and quality of the ongoing work. He was accompanied by Special Secretary Health Shahak Baloch, officers from the Communication and Works Department (C&W), and representatives of other relevant departments.
During the inspection, the minister directed officials to ensure that the project is completed promptly and in line with international standards. He said the establishment of the Trauma Centre is a milestone initiative by the Government of Balochistan that will greatly improve emergency medical response not only in Quetta but across the province. Minister Kakar emphasised that the provincial government is committed to reforms and infrastructure development in the health sector to provide modern, reliable, and high-quality healthcare services to the people of Balochistan.
