Taylor Swift fans break internet with new theory after 'TS 12' release
Taylor Swift fans in frenzy over 'Fate of Ophelia' surprise
Taylor Swift fans reached cloud nine with excitement after a post went viral, claiming that the pop superstar had revealed one more surprise.
The 35-year-old global icon was believed to have changed the lyrics of her latest single, The Fate of Ophelia, and Swifties ran to streaming platforms to hear the new lyrics.
“Taylor Swift has edited the audio for her song “The Fate of Ophelia”! This new version contains never before heard lyrics, with the original version still available on streaming through the EP for the acoustic. Go stream!,” read the post on X.
One Swiftie replied, “Omggg she honed her powers and used her folkmore pen mixed with her TTPD pen for this new version ahhh!!!,” while another exclaimed, “OMG NOT THE LADY GAGA FEATURE TOO.”
A third chimed in, “wow new high note after bridge hits soo hard,” and “the way it clicks on the 3rd listen.”
However, some fans were left confused as they did not observe any change in the song, “Wait is this like a prank or serious cause nothing has changed for me,” wrote one such X user.
While one social media sleuth became the voice of reason and shut down the rumours once and for all, writing, “This is false information. Taylor Swift has not updated The Fate of Ophelia for streaming services. This is a tactic to garner more streams for the song.”
Swift’s song has already achieved chart-topping success, with being number one on Billboard 100 for the third consecutive week, as well as on the Global 200 chart.
The single is also ruling the Global Spotify chart, reigning at the first position for 27 days straight since its release.
