Prince Harry and Meghan Markle treated their Santa Barbara neighbors to a royal surprise this Halloween as they took their children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, trick-or-treating.
Photos obtained by Page Six showed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex walking door to door with their kids on Friday, celebrating the spooky holiday in their Montecito neighbourhood.
Markle, 44, kept things festive in a black shirt and sweatpants paired with a rainbow butterfly cape, while Harry, 41, looked casual in a black polo and jeans.
The couple followed closely behind their children, who excitedly collected candy from nearby homes. Archie was dressed as an ant, and Lilibet looked adorable as a green firefly.
Harry was spotted carrying two bottles of an unknown drink, while Markle held a stemless wine cup. According to local tradition, parents often receive wine as a treat while children gather candy.
Just days before Halloween, Markle shared a glimpse into her family’s daily life during a conversation with her friend Courtney Adamo at the Godmothers Bookstore in Montecito.
“First thing I do when I wake up in the morning is turn the music on in the house,” she said, adding, “I always travel with a candle. I am so conscious and sensitive to fragrance, and I associate that with home.”
The Duchess also revealed that her family practices a nightly “rose and thorn” ritual to spark meaningful conversations. “Our daughter, she’s 4 and she’s a very strong personality and she’s incredible,” Markle said. “And now she’s in this moment where I say, ‘What’s your rose and your thorn?’ And she goes, ‘My day was just a blast.’”
Earlier in October, Markle marked International Day of the Girl by posting unseen photos of Lilibet, writing, “To all the girls — this world is yours. Do everything you can to protect your rights, use your voice, support each other. We will do the same for you. It’s your right and our responsibility. Go get ’em girl! Happy International Day of the Girl.”
