MUZAFFARABAD: Political instability continues to grip Azad Jammu and Kashmir as the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) failed to submit a no-confidence motion despite claiming to have the required majority.
On Friday, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had asserted that the party possesses a clear majority to remove the “non-political” prime minister of Azad Kashmir.
He said that the nomination of a new prime ministerial candidate poses no issue for the PPP, as all members are committed to voting for whichever candidate the party leadership endorses.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was given a detailed briefing on the political situation in Azad Kashmir during a meeting of the PPP Azad Jammu and Kashmir parliamentary party. He was accompanied by PPP Women’s Wing Central President Faryal Talpur.
The Azad Kashmir leadership briefed Bilawal Bhutto on the evolving political developments in the region, while representatives of Azad Jammu and Kashmir also apprised the central leadership of key public concerns and ongoing challenges.
