Ariana Grande surprises fans with horror series debut

Ariana Grande made headlines after being announced as the newest cast member of American Horror Story season 13.

The 32-year-old pop star was revealed to be joining the long-running horror anthology in a surprise announcement shared on Halloween.

The new season, set to premiere in October 2026, will also feature the return of fan favourites including Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe and Leslie Grossman.

The spooky reveal video began with Vera Lynn’s I’ll Be Seeing You playing in the background before shifting into chilling scenes and ending with Roberts’ iconic line, “Surprise, bitch. I bet you thought you’d seen the last of me.”

Fans immediately flooded social media with excitement over the unexpected casting.

“ARIANA GRANDE IN AHS OH F**K YEAH,” one person tweeted, while another wrote, “Jessica Lange returning to AHS and on top of that with Miss Ariana Grande, this just got personal.”

Others expressed pure shock, with one fan asking, “Ariana, what are you doing here?”

However, the Wicked star’s addition to the series came as a surprise to many, though it is not her first time working with creator Ryan Murphy.

She previously appeared in his show Scream Queens as Chanel #2.

Murphy once shared that the music icon and actress always been a huge fan of American Horror Story, saying she was “obsessed” with the show even before their first collaboration.

Moreover, the news has since sparked excitement, with fans calling this lineup one of the most iconic in AHS history.
