Rawalpindi: After thousands of female and male candidates appeared in the ‘Aptitude Test’ for the 'Bano Qabil Programme' here Thursday, the parents have highly appreciated initiative undertaken by the Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan (AFP) to impart IT training to the youth.
“I came all the way from Taxila to bring my relatives and children to appear in the entry test,” Ziaur Rehman said.
Mr. Arshad Ahmed, whose children also appeared the entry test, said that the IT programme would surely enable his children to learn skills and earn some money while sitting at home. "Such initiatives also help governments to educate students", he said.
The organisers have selected the Government Postgraduate College for Boys, Satellite Town to conduct entry test for the Rawalpindi phase. However, the ground fell short for the registered candidates who turned in thousands from different areas of the Rawalpindi districts. “We have arranged around 15,000 chairs for the candidates and have to conduct written test in three phases", Mansoor Alam who was member of the organizing team said.
He said immediately it was not possible to given exact numbers but over 30,000 candidates might have appeared in the entry test. There was also separate seating arrangement for female and male candidates who were also bottles of mineral water.
City Traffic Police performed duties to avert traffic jams on adjoining 5th road, 6th road and Saidpur Road.
Muhammad Ramzan, a resident of Satellite Town, said that it was first activity of its kind in the city, saying that engaging youth in such manners is highly appreciative.
