PESHAWAR: A major development has surfaced in the Rs40 billion mega corruption case in Kohistan. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recovered another Rs200 million from the Abbottabad residence of alleged mastermind, Qaiser Iqbal.
The amount was seized in two separate raids, with Rs100 million recovered each time. Earlier, Rs1.6 billion had been recovered from his house. The cash had been hidden inside paint cans, a location identified by his arrested wife.
According to NAB, Qaiser Iqbal served in the C&W Department, Upper Kohistan, first as a clerk and later as head clerk, from August 2013 onward. During this period, he allegedly prepared and submitted forged documents to facilitate the illegal withdrawal of funds from the government exchequer.
