Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi conducted an official visit to the National Police Academy (NPA) on Monday to assess the progress of the institution's comprehensive upgradation project.
The minister underscored the critical role of the NPA, stating that it serves as the ‘backbone of the police force’ and is essential for producing well-trained officers who guarantee the "protection of citizens’ lives and property."
During his inspection, Minister Naqvi reviewed the ongoing construction of the new 11-storey hostel building. He was informed by Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa that the structural work has been completed up to the third-floor roof and that the overall development work is progressing on schedule.
The minister issued a firm directive for the first phase of the upgradation project to be completed within the stipulated timeframe, emphasising that all construction must adhere to high standards of quality and transparency. He was assured that the entire 11-storey building is slated for completion within the next five months. The Interior Minister also took a detailed tour of the existing facilities, focusing on improvements to the living, dining, and training environments for the trainee officers.
