LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met PMLN President Nawaz Sharif in Jati Umra on Sunday and discussed the country’s political situation.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz were also present in this meeting. In addition to the country’s economic situation, the PMLN leaders also discussed the party matters.

According to party sources, Nawaz Sharif said that the country’s economy needs to be further strengthened and with the passage of time, the country was moving towards development.

Addressing PM Shehbaz Sharif, the former prime minister said that the world also appreciates Shehbaz Sharif’s tireless work. Nawaz Sharif also praised Maryam Nawaz’s role and said that Maryam Nawaz was taking excellent steps regarding law and order in Punjab and under her leadership, Punjab was progressing.

Party sources said Nawaz Sharif provided his guidance on national matters as the two leaders consulted on party affairs and government policies and expressed their determination to work together for the stability of the country and public relief.

Party sources said the meeting also discussed the ongoing rift between the PPP and PMLN, situation of KPK and the upcoming local government elections in Punjab.

The prime minister and PMLN stalwarts also discussed the ongoing situation of Pakistan and Afghanistan border. They paid tribute to Pakistan Armed Forces for their effective and comprehensive response to Afghanistan’s provocations. The PM said the entire nation stood with Pakistan armed forces to defend the country.

Later, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the residence of Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Mian Marghoob Ahmed and expressed his condolences over the death of his wife.
