Maryam orders early launch of Air Punjab, Murree Glass Train projects
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the authorities to make Air Punjab and Murree Glass Train projects operational at the earliest.
She issued these instructions while presiding over a meeting to review the progress of the Air Punjab initiative. The chief minister approved the Lahore-Islamabad route for the airline’s initial operations and ordered for completion of all necessary formalities for Phase I without any delay.
Maryam also instructed officials to acquire modern and comfortable aircraft on lease to ensure quality service for passengers.
During the meeting, she also reviewed the Murree Glass Train project and urged the departments concerned to take all possible measures for its timely completion.
Separately, CM Maryam Nawaz expressed deep sense of grief and sorrow over the death of nine people -- four members of the same family in Kamalia, and death of five people in a truck-van collision in Gujranwala. She offered condolences and extended sympathies to the bereaved families.
