Islamabad:A job-seeking woman was allegedly raped by two men in an apartment located here at a prominent Mall within the jurisdiction of the Margalla Police Station.
According to the police, the victim was summoned to the Mall, by two suspects. Upon her arrival, the men allegedly assaulted her and recorded the incident on video. The woman immediately contacted the police helpline 15 to report the crime. Margalla Police officers swiftly responded to the call, arrived at the scene, rescued the victim, and arrested both suspects. The accused have been shifted to the Margalla Police Station for further investigation.
The victim was transported to the PIMS for a medical examination. The SHO confirmed that the initial medical report corroborated the sexual assault. The victim, who hails from Arif Wala and is temporarily residing in Mehrabadi, Jafar Chowk, Sector G-12, lodged a formal complaint with the police. She stated that she came to Islamabad about ten days ago in search of employment.
She explained that she learned about a job opening at a call center in Sector G/9-1 via WhatsApp. When she reached at the given address, the receptionist informed her that the managing director was unavailable and provided her with a contact number for a concerned officer.
The victim claimed that when she contacted this officer, he instructed her to come to his apartment in the multi-story building of the mall. “Two persons were present in the apartment when I reached there,” she added. “Both of them forcibly raped her and locked her in a room.”
She credited contacting Rescue 15 with the timely arrival of the police, which led to her rescue and the arrest of the two suspects. The police have registered an FIR against the accused on charges of rape and are pursuing further legal action.
