Bugti orders probe into sick child’s death at Uthal check post
QUETTA: A seriously ill child being taken from Quetta to Karachi for medical treatment reportedly died after an alleged delay at security check post in Uthal. The incident occurred when the personnel allegedly stopped vehicles for an extended period during routine checking.
According to reports, the child’s parents pleaded with the personnel to allow their vehicle to pass quickly due to the child’s critical condition, but the checking staff continued delaying the process. The child finally succumbed to his illness during the wait. Following the tragic incident, the grieving family, along with other passengers, staged a protest and blocked the main national highway. The demonstration caused a long traffic jam on both sides of the road. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti took immediate notice of the incident and directed the commissioner of Kalat Division to conduct an inquiry into the matter.
