ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of National Health Services has removed Dr Ayaz Mustafa from all key positions, a senior official confirmed on Monday.
He had been working as “Director General to Health Minister” — the post not recognised in the official structure.He was was holding multiple positions, including Deputy National Coordinator for HIV, TB and Malaria programmes at the Common Management Unit (CMU).
His removal comes just weeks after he was promoted to Grade 20. He was fourth on the seniority list. One officer was disqualified on technical grounds, while the other two submitted written refusals for promotion. Ayaz, not a medical doctor, holds a research doctorate.
