PESHAWAR: By-elections were held in 12 constituencies in seven districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa amid tight security on Sunday.
The polls were conducted in seven districts including Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Malakand, Shangla, and Upper Dir, where 12 village council seats were vacant.
A total of 88,359 voters exercised their right to franchise for which 66 polling stations and 201 polling booths were established. Among these, 23 polling stations were declared sensitive and five highly sensitive.
In Ghwando village council in Dargai, Malakand, Tauseef Khan got 492 votes while Mustafa and Farman Ali got 472 and 430 votes, respectively, for the general seat.
In VC Mandhra village council Dera II, Khan Muhammad Khalid got 3,028 votes, followed by Muhammad Bilal with 2,200 votes.
In Daskore village council in Upper Dir, Shah Faisal got 88 votes followed by three votes of Muhammad Iqbal. Only 91 votes were polled in the election.
In Darra Mansehra, Abdul Mamon got 1,223 votes.
In Bakot 3, Abbottabad Seehab Anjum got 141 votes against 722 of Akmal Abbasi.
