FIA foils human smuggling attempt in Jiwani, arrests 13 trying to illegally enter Iran
QUETTA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested 13 individuals attempting to illegally cross into Iran by sea during an operation conducted in Jiwani, Gwadar district.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the FIA Composite Circle Gwadar carried out the operation on Wednesday, intercepting a group of people who were trying to leave Pakistan through unauthorized sea routes.
Among those arrested, two belong to Rahim Yar Khan, five to Qambar-Shahdadkot, while others hail from Kashmore, Larkana, and Shangla districts.
The spokesperson said that, according to initial investigations, the arrested individuals intended to travel onward from Iran to other countries illegally.
A case has been registered against the suspects, and further investigation is underway to identify the facilitators and networks involved in the human smuggling attempt.
