LAHORE: Law-enforcement agencies have completed the identification of organizers of recent violent protests staged by a religious group and compiled a list of all involved agitators, police sources said on Wednesday.
According to the sources, complete data of the suspects has been shared with law-enforcement agencies. The nationwide network and command points of the group have been identified, while geo-fencing helped trace the key figures involved. Call data records also revealed the masterminds behind the unrest. The financiers and facilitators have been separately identified, and warrants have been prepared for their arrest. A crackdown is expected at any time, with planned raids in major cities, the sources added.
Police said videos of those involved in arson attacks have been analyzed and their faces identified through facial recognition technology. Investigation into suspicious funding is underway, while relevant banking records have been secured.
Officials reaffirmed that there will be zero tolerance for those involved in disturbing public peace, and strict legal action will be taken against all responsible.
